From pedal to plugin.
Mythology started as a pedal, hand-built by Darta Effects, with Medusa engraved on its golden enclosure. It follows the recipe of the classic 90s "transparent" overdrive: it pushes your amp without masking your guitar. Since version 1.1, the plugin simulates the pedal's circuit part by part, from the schematic: the op-amps, the clean path blended into the driven one, the diodes and the doubled supply that gives it plenty of headroom.
Five controls, just like the pedal
Gain
From clean boost to thick drive. Like the original, the same knob blends the clean and driven signals.
Treble
Shapes the brightness after the clipping, from round to cutting.
Level
Plenty of output to push your amp or the next drive.
Bass
A switch that brings body and low mids back to the driven path, for when high gain gets thin.
Clip
Three diode types: germanium (the original, smooth), silicon (tighter) and LED (more open and louder).
Under the hood
Simulated circuit
Every resistor, capacitor, diode and op-amp in the pedal's schematic, solved together at every sample. Not an EQ with saturation on top.
16x oversampling
Clean highs, without that digital fizz at high gain.
Verified
Compared against SPICE, the circuit simulator engineers use, and against measurements of the real pedal.
Standalone
Open the app and play through its clean amp and cabinet (or your own IR), no DAW needed.

Is there a Mac version?
Yes, for macOS 10.15 or newer, on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. The download e-mail includes both the Windows and the Mac link.
Can I play without a DAW?
Yes. The standalone app comes with a clean amp (VOLUME, BASS, MIDDLE and TREBLE) and a 1×12 cabinet, or your own IR. Just plug your guitar into your audio interface and play. In your DAW, the plugin is just the pedal, so you can use any amp and cabinet you like.
Does it sound like the pedal?
Since version 1.1, the plugin simulates the circuit of Darta Effects' Mythology part by part, from the pedal's schematic, with the same controls and the same three diode options. The Gain knob was tuned so the drive builds up more evenly than on the pedal.
